Le fitopatie del girasole in Italia

In questa rassegna è illustrata l’evoluzione della situazione fitosanitaria del girasole in Italia a partire dagli anni ’70 del secolo scorso. L’esplosione epidemica della Plasmopara helianthi Novot., che negli anni 1970 aveva fortemente condizionato lo sviluppo della coltura, si è andata mano a mano ridimensionando con l’introduzione di ibridi commerciali resistenti e con la concia del seme. La ricomparsa del fungo, con incidenze nettamente inferiori, viene attribuita a un insufficiente trattamento conciante che ha favorito la comparsa di isolati con ridotta sensibilità al Metalaxyl. Lo Sclerotium bataticola Taub. e il Phoma sp. sono presenti endemicamente con incidenze variabili in funzione degli andamenti stagionali. Le altre avversità compaiono sporadicamente e non destano preoccupazione. Sunflower diseases in Italy In this review it is illustrated the evolution of the phytosanitary situation of sunflower in Italy from 1970. The epidemic outbreak of the downy mildew, wich strongly conditioned the development of the sunflower cultivation in the 70s, has decreased after the introduction of commercial resistant hybrids and with the seed dressing. The reappearance of the fungus, with clearly inferior incidences, is attributed to an insufficient seed dressing that promoted the selection of isolates with reduced sensibility to the Metalaxyl. Sclerotium bataticola Taub. and Phoma sp. are present endemically and their incidences are variable with the environmental conditions. The others adversities appear sporadically and they do not wake worry.
