This paper reports the integrated control strategies of the main olive tree diseases focussing attention on recent advances of researches and also gives a concise description of symptomatology. Preventive agronomic and chemical measures are considered the effective strategies for controlling olive scab disease, cercosporiosis, Verticillium wilt, olive knot disease in olive orchards. The use of tolerant and resistant cultivars to fungal and bacterial diseases and also sanitary selection and sanitation (heat therapy, meristem tip culture) of plant propagation materials against viruses and phytoplasmas are recommended as the best control strategies in new orchards and nurseries.
