In opposition to the Cartesian understanding of space as an abstract descriptive modality of reality stands its valorization as a generator of sense, variously defined as (non) place, topos or environment. As a qualitative context of life and meaning, its careful analysis allows to understand also dynamics that may seem not fitting and shed new light on them, as it is shown in this essay by comparing Kurdish and Palestinian women.
