The revisitation of a statistical based study regarding the correlations between socio-environmental variables in people with intellectual disability becomes an opportunity to reflect retrospectively on the meaning-making processes in the experience of dis-ability itself, in order to retrace and interpret it. The aim is to review some of the fragments of life that have emerged and understand the way they were told within a specific institutional context. The work has been conducted using an ethnographic method and a systemic approach. Further reflections are proposed on a number of other themes: the role of narration as a link between creation of meaning and experi-ence; the different linguistic registers and discursive genres in the context of intellec-tual disability; the trajectories activated in its social circuit.
