The application of Weibull probability distribution to studies of low-flow phenomena is fairly frequent in literature [1] [2]. Application of this distribution, and in particular the estimation of the related parameters is affected to a far from negligible extent by the estimation procedures and by the size of the historical series of data used. This paper, therefore, suggests a calculation methodology for estimating the parameters of Weibull’s function, used typically to evaluate absolute minimum flow rates, starting out from the investigation of a number of intermediate parameters that are essential for reaching the final estimates.

Abstract
The application of Weibull probability distribution to studies of low-flow phenomena is fairly frequent in literature [1] [2]. Application of this distribution, and in particular the estimation of the related parameters is affected to a far from negligible extent by the estimation procedures and by the size of the historical series of data used. This paper, therefore, suggests a calculation methodology for estimating the parameters of Weibull’s function, used typically to evaluate absolute minimum flow rates, starting out from the investigation of a number of intermediate parameters that are essential for reaching the final estimates.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
