The scenario we consider in this paper is that of the IST FIFTH project, where a local network on board a fast train is connected either via a satellite link or a Wireless-LAN access to the core section of the FIFTH fixed network where content servers are located. We exploit Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) capabilities as a flexible transport solution for FIFTH CDN contents. We propose MPLS-based mechanisms to perform a smart server selection and to efficiently manage trains mobility.

Abstract
The scenario we consider in this paper is that of the IST FIFTH project, where a local network on board a fast train is connected either via a satellite link or a Wireless-LAN access to the core section of the FIFTH fixed network where content servers are located. We exploit Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) capabilities as a flexible transport solution for FIFTH CDN contents. We propose MPLS-based mechanisms to perform a smart server selection and to efficiently manage trains mobility.File in questo prodotto:
