In this paper, the performance of a code-division multiple-access (CDMA) system using digital frequency conversion is analyzed and modeled. The joint effect of channel noise, sampling jitter, and analog-digital converter (ADC) errors is discussed and modeled assuming uniform converters. Variable resolution memoryless and Sigma Delta ADCs are considered, and the sensitivities of the resulting systems to channel noise, sampling jitter, and overloading errors are compared.

Abstract

In this paper, the performance of a code-division multiple-access (CDMA) system using digital frequency conversion is analyzed and modeled. The joint effect of channel noise, sampling jitter, and analog-digital converter (ADC) errors is discussed and modeled assuming uniform converters. Variable resolution memoryless and Sigma Delta ADCs are considered, and the sensitivities of the resulting systems to channel noise, sampling jitter, and overloading errors are compared.
