In this paper some existence theorems are stated for the Burkill-Cesari integral. These theorems find application to the Weierstrass integral for integrands of the form f(p,q), with respect to any type of decompositions; also more general integrands are considered, F=F(u,v,z,p,q), but only for cartesian decompositions. The Burkill-Cesari integral is then compared with the Serrin integral, which allows to deduce lower semi-continuity an other relevant results for the Weierstrass integral.
