Il Codice Rosso tra depoliticizzazione e ripoliticizzazione della violenza di genere in Italia

The article focuses on the reasons for the processes of depoliticization and repolicitization of gender and domestic violence in Italy. The punitive, emergency and zero-cost logic that underlie the Red Code (Law No. 69/2019) makes this instrument a failure in terms of effectiveness and normative efficacy as well as political action in the strict sense. The depoliticisation of gender-based violence entails its normalization. It simultaneously gives rise to forms of repoliticisation from below by other civil society actors, who although attempting to make counter-violence interventions fail to produce structural changes and open the space for new social conflicts related to participation in public tenders for the awarding of the management of anti-violence services.
