Abstract

Environmentally and economically sound systems for the management of waste and residuals arising from the different human activities, represent an important issue to pursue due the negative effects that some activities can have on both the environment and the social life. In particular the livestock represent one of the main pollutant source, among the different human activities, due to the relevant production of gaseous, liquid and solid substances, that can affects seriously the air as the ground and the water. For this reason the exploitation of new or innovative management and treatment systems, able to conjugate the environmental aspects with the economical one, is an important goal to purse. In this work a simulation model able to evaluate the performances of an anaerobic/aerobic agricultural and zoo-technical residuals treatment process, have been applied to an existing swine breeding Economical ad energetic and material recovery benefits have also been evaluated.
