Both weather and driving conditions can significantly affect the energy consumptions of electric vehicles. Therefore, it is important to analyze the seasonal factors that influence the electricity consumptions and the charging/discharging efficiencies of the batteries under real traffic conditions. In the present paper a city car was considered as case study among a set of BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles) with 80-145 kW power electric motor and a battery capacity variable in 40-100 kWh range that are being examined at University of Perugia (Engineering Department). The examined vehicle follows typical urban and sub-urban roads in Umbria Region (located in center of Italy). The electric consumptions and the charging performance are examined for a period of about 2 years; in the same period the weather conditions are monitored in the same reference days. The influence of the seasonal conditions and of the batteries aging were observed. Finally, a critical comparison with literature data completes this study.
