This paper proposes a new comprehensive analysis – including paleographic and codicological aspects – of the thirty-eight witnesses that transmit Ubertino da Casale’s Arbor vite crucifixe Iesu in non fragmentary form, hence constituting its Latin manuscript tradition. Distributed along at least three main routes – Italic, Rhenish-Brabantian and Pyrenean-Iberian – this tradition now has new coordinates as regards dates and places where the codices were written. Except for those cases where it was lacking altogether, this kind of information had been gleaned from descriptions in repertories that are now superseded. Moreover, it has been possible to reconstruct the aspect and function of many of these codices, as well as the paths by which they were transmitted.

Abstract
Moreover, it has been possible to reconstruct the aspect and function of many of these codices, as well as the paths by which they were transmitted.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
