Th e ethanolic ext racts of tepals and anthers of saffron Rowers (Crocus eatious L.) wer e analyzed by means of GC and CCiMS. The extract from tepal s contained 16 compounds, the most abundantwere 2-phenylethyl alcohol (15.0%), tetraco sane (10.5%), ethyl hexadecanoate (10.0%) and heptadecane (9.6%). The extract from anthers contained 26 compounds, the major compounds being 2-phenylethyl alcohol (50.4%) and 2-phenet hyl acetate (15.4%).
