The aim of this study was to develop a system for monitoring calving in order to reduce perinatal mortality and to improve dairy cow fertility, by preventing most post partum reproductive pathologies. Eighty dairy cows have been assigned at the protocol of calving monitoring by GSM technology. THe application of GSM technology, in conjunction with a proper management of the calving facilities are a reliable tool for calving assistance and improvment of reproductive efficiency and neonatal viability. Based on the resultes of this study we advise the use of GSM technology in large farm for intensive milk production.
