Feline progressive histiocytosis represents a slowly progressive disease of histiocytic origin, still not completely defined, with possible involvement of lymph nodes and internal organs. Alopecic, pruritic ear nodules were detected in a 13-years-old, female, shortaired cat. Cytologic and histopatological findings were suggestive of pyogranulomatous disease or histiocityc proliferative disease. Immunocytology performed with CD1a, CD1c and CD11b and ultrastructural investigations confirmed the histiocytic disorder and suggest the interstitial dentritic cell origin.

Abstract
Feline progressive histiocytosis represents a slowly progressive disease of histiocytic origin, still not completely defined, with possible involvement of lymph nodes and internal organs. Alopecic, pruritic ear nodules were detected in a 13-years-old, female, shortaired cat. Cytologic and histopatological findings were suggestive of pyogranulomatous disease or histiocityc proliferative disease. Immunocytology performed with CD1a, CD1c and CD11b and ultrastructural investigations confirmed the histiocytic disorder and suggest the interstitial dentritic cell origin.File in questo prodotto:
