After the discovery that papaverine (Virag, 1982) and phenoxybenzamine (Brindley, 1993, 1986) injected into the penis can cause a rigid and sustained erection enabling coitus, many impotent patients have been treated with intracavernous injections (ICI) of these and various other drugs. These injections, however, have not only a therapeutic purpose but also a diagnostic value as well (Virag et al. 1984). This paper describes the results of ICIP (papaverine) performed in 144 impotent patients, and of ICIPh (phenoxybenzamine) made only in some patients non responders to ICIP.

Abstract
After the discovery that papaverine (Virag, 1982) and phenoxybenzamine (Brindley, 1993, 1986) injected into the penis can cause a rigid and sustained erection enabling coitus, many impotent patients have been treated with intracavernous injections (ICI) of these and various other drugs. These injections, however, have not only a therapeutic purpose but also a diagnostic value as well (Virag et al. 1984). This paper describes the results of ICIP (papaverine) performed in 144 impotent patients, and of ICIPh (phenoxybenzamine) made only in some patients non responders to ICIP.File in questo prodotto:
