Il governo e l'amministrazione dell'Opera del Duomo di Orvieto dalle origini al XIX secolo

Cathedral of Orvieto was built in few centuries by the will of citizens town. “Opera del Duomo” is the institution, still existing, oriented, first to the construction of the Cathedral, then to the management of the property acquired during centuries. Aim of this paper is to analyze relationship among ad-ministration, organization and accountability of this institution, considering evolution and changing of the Opera’s activity. This work, particularly, attemps to examine the existence of double-entry bookke-eping, analyzing links and connections between registers and accounting books.
