The results of a survey concerning the northern Iran identify six areas where the cultivations of vine, chestnut, olive trees, pistachio, saffron and truffle are particularly widespread. The study of lithologic, climatic and floristic conditions has been realized on these areas, pointing out the most productive ones. Some soil profiles ave been analyzed and some samples taken to value the morphological, chemical and physical characteristics of these soils and their taxonomical classification.
