For many waste managment system, of narrowed dimensions, the landfill can represent the only susteinable way of managing the Non Differentiate fraction of MSW. A possible solution for increasing the landfill life, and for reducing post mortem managment problems, is represented by the Bioreactor Landfill. This landfill management mode enhances the process of the biological activity, producing an increase in biogas production rate together with an higher settlement rate. The present study, analyzes the effect of aerobic pre-treatment on the Organic Fraction arising from the mechanical sorting of Non Differentiated MSW, collected in a given area, both on the waste stabilization and on their bio-gassification potential. The main preliminary results shows that the aerobic pre-treatment can enhance the bio-gassification potential of the waste, together with an important contribution to their stabilization.
