In recent years, the researchers of the DSAA (University of Perugia) focused their studies on the encapsulation technology for the production of capsules and synthetic seeds as innnovative tools for the nurseries. Interesting results were obtained using vitro-derived propagules of commercial and local cultivars of olive (Olea europaea L.). The aim of this work has been to report the main experiences in order to specific problems related with type of explants, effect of the alginate matrix on the propagules regrowth, suitability of the inductive treatments, improvement of procedures for the storage and the conversion, and simplification of protocols.

Abstract
In recent years, the researchers of the DSAA (University of Perugia) focused their studies on the encapsulation technology for the production of capsules and synthetic seeds as innnovative tools for the nurseries. Interesting results were obtained using vitro-derived propagules of commercial and local cultivars of olive (Olea europaea L.). The aim of this work has been to report the main experiences in order to specific problems related with type of explants, effect of the alginate matrix on the propagules regrowth, suitability of the inductive treatments, improvement of procedures for the storage and the conversion, and simplification of protocols.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
