In this paper, design of reflectarray antennas using 1-bit digital phase shifters is reported. Using quadratic phase distribution due to the incident spherical field on the array face, the quantization error caused by 1-bit phase shifters is compensated. The results are compared with 1.5 and 2 bits phase shifters and effects of frequency squint, number of quantization bits and number of elements on radiation parameters such as scan angle error, directivity and side lobe are discussed. Finally, the study of quantization error variation with respect to radiating source position is presented.

Abstract
In this paper, design of reflectarray antennas using 1-bit digital phase shifters is reported. Using quadratic phase distribution due to the incident spherical field on the array face, the quantization error caused by 1-bit phase shifters is compensated. The results are compared with 1.5 and 2 bits phase shifters and effects of frequency squint, number of quantization bits and number of elements on radiation parameters such as scan angle error, directivity and side lobe are discussed. Finally, the study of quantization error variation with respect to radiating source position is presented.File in questo prodotto:
