This work illustrates methodologies, techniques and systems for three-dimensional surface nano and micro-topography measurement and analysis, and discusses their application to the characterization of bioceramic material surfaces in biomedical problems. Several case studies are introduced that show how surface data, acquired by means of different techniques and systems, ranging from contact stylus instruments to the Atomic Force Microscope, can be manipulated and analyzed by means of different techniques and algorithms, and how this analysis process ultimately helps gaining a better understanding of the relationships that link bioceramic material surface generation processes, surface morphology, and surface functional behaviour in biomedical applications

Abstract
This work illustrates methodologies, techniques and systems for three-dimensional surface nano and micro-topography measurement and analysis, and discusses their application to the characterization of bioceramic material surfaces in biomedical problems. Several case studies are introduced that show how surface data, acquired by means of different techniques and systems, ranging from contact stylus instruments to the Atomic Force Microscope, can be manipulated and analyzed by means of different techniques and algorithms, and how this analysis process ultimately helps gaining a better understanding of the relationships that link bioceramic material surface generation processes, surface morphology, and surface functional behaviour in biomedical applicationsI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
