In the Earth Science disciplines communication, mapping is obviously an indispensable tool for representing data derived from traditional detection and analysis methods on the physical territory. New cultural trends in science communication lead, currently, to the creation of original and absolutely unusual maps, represented by the thematic maps of Urban Geology. This new discipline, beyond the possible definitions or connotations, specifically takes on the role of representing and communicating the geological events that affected the area in our cities: Urban Geology as an unexpected "narration" of the history told by the local geological monuments that, with their stones, testify the geological and geo-morphological evolution of their territory.
