Starting from the examples offered by the minor works of textual philology by Enzo Cecchini, the paper enunciates some principles of textual criticism, useful to establish a methodological paradigm com- ing from the Italian School. It exemplifies, in particular, some applications of the Lachmannian method, the ideas of lectio singularis, lectio difficilior, the practice of the conservation of the transmitted readings and the conjectural emendation.
