The fight against Varroa destructor (Anderson & Trueman) is still one of the problems that most afflict the beekeeping world and Italian from the point of view of health care "system hive" that quality of the products which must ensure the health of honey produced. For these reasons a number of years the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences in collaboration with the Italian Federation of Beekeepers are engaged in the search for systems to combat varroa mite in colonies of Apis mellifera ligustica (Spin., 1806) through the use of products low chemical impact, which are able to guarantee the survival of the hives and the health of consumers (Bernardini and Gardi, 2001; Wallner, 1999). For these reasons in the year 2011 has been activated a trial based on the use of citric acid in sugar solution to be distributed among the brood combs, via activation of the block and not brood.
