Hydrologic models for estimating the water resources available in an ungaged section of a stream or in a section where flow measurements were performed for a too short period are investigated. In the last case a stochastic transfer plus noise model based on the transfer of the discharge measured in a different section is used, while in the case of an ungaged section a regionalizing procedure based on the use of a base flow index is adopted. Application was performed in a basin of Central Italy of about 35 Km2; it is a sub-basin of the Niccone River basin which was also considered as a support in this study. The accuracy of the investigated models is shown and their shortcomings are pointed out.

Abstract
Hydrologic models for estimating the water resources available in an ungaged section of a stream or in a section where flow measurements were performed for a too short period are investigated. In the last case a stochastic transfer plus noise model based on the transfer of the discharge measured in a different section is used, while in the case of an ungaged section a regionalizing procedure based on the use of a base flow index is adopted. Application was performed in a basin of Central Italy of about 35 Km2; it is a sub-basin of the Niccone River basin which was also considered as a support in this study. The accuracy of the investigated models is shown and their shortcomings are pointed out.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
