Ovarian cysts in the bitch are reported to be pathological aspect of the reproductive apparatus frequently detected in nulliparous subjects and/or older than five years. The pathogenesis, still not well understood, seems to be similar to the well known bovine cysts. the afffected animals show a persistent anaestrous, a continuative pro oestrus/oestrus phase or even not detectable signs of ovarian associated endocrinopathy. We have considered interesting to investigate this case report from clinical, hormonal, anatomic and histopathological view point.

Abstract
