Inelastic neutron scattering measurements on lead have been performed at six temperatures from 4.2 K up to 245 K using the PRISMA spectrometer installed at the ISIS spallation neutron source at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK. With the present experiment we wish to emphasize the importance of measuring the phonon response function over a wide energy range especially when studying temperature-related phenomena.
