Serological investigations on infectious bursal disease vaccine strain characterised by a residual pathogenicity. The efficacy of a vaccine with a residual pathogenicity has been studied in market broiler chickens with a different level of maternal antibodies. The immunosuppressive potential of the vaccine has also been investigated to evaluate the antibody response to Newcastle disease virus (NDV). The results, related to efficacy of the vaccine, show that it is able to break through maternal antibody and stimulate an active response. The antibody response is higher in chickens having a low level of maternal antibodies at vaccination. As regard to immunosuppressive effects it has been observed that the antibody response to NDV vaccination is lower in chickens previously vaccinated with IBDV.

Abstract
Serological investigations on infectious bursal disease vaccine strain characterised by a residual pathogenicity. The efficacy of a vaccine with a residual pathogenicity has been studied in market broiler chickens with a different level of maternal antibodies. The immunosuppressive potential of the vaccine has also been investigated to evaluate the antibody response to Newcastle disease virus (NDV). The results, related to efficacy of the vaccine, show that it is able to break through maternal antibody and stimulate an active response. The antibody response is higher in chickens having a low level of maternal antibodies at vaccination. As regard to immunosuppressive effects it has been observed that the antibody response to NDV vaccination is lower in chickens previously vaccinated with IBDV.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
