The O-D stretching modes between 220 and 330 meV (1800-2600 cm-1) have been observed in heavy ice in the hexagonal structure by means of coherent neutron scattering. Observation of the modes at these high energies was made possible by using the constant-Q spectrometer on the Harwell electron Linac. A simple procedure was followed to assign peaks within the same branch. No appreciable dispersion in the branches was observed within the present accuracy (+or-10 meV, +or-80 cm-1).

Abstract
The O-D stretching modes between 220 and 330 meV (1800-2600 cm-1) have been observed in heavy ice in the hexagonal structure by means of coherent neutron scattering. Observation of the modes at these high energies was made possible by using the constant-Q spectrometer on the Harwell electron Linac. A simple procedure was followed to assign peaks within the same branch. No appreciable dispersion in the branches was observed within the present accuracy (+or-10 meV, +or-80 cm-1).File in questo prodotto:
