The interaction between acid and basic magmas has been studied in key sectors of the Sardinia-Corsica Batholith. The coexistence of magmas of different composition determined the occurrence of different styles of interaction, ranging from mixing to mingling. These styles have been related to variations in several physicochemical parameters, such as the relative mass fractions, the physical state of interacting magmas, and the static versus dynamic environment the interaction occurred in. A schematic summarizing picture of the different environmental settings of interaction processes among basic and acid magmas in different sectors of the Sardinia-Corsica Batholith is given.

Abstract
The interaction between acid and basic magmas has been studied in key sectors of the Sardinia-Corsica Batholith. The coexistence of magmas of different composition determined the occurrence of different styles of interaction, ranging from mixing to mingling. These styles have been related to variations in several physicochemical parameters, such as the relative mass fractions, the physical state of interacting magmas, and the static versus dynamic environment the interaction occurred in. A schematic summarizing picture of the different environmental settings of interaction processes among basic and acid magmas in different sectors of the Sardinia-Corsica Batholith is given.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
