Multiple synchronous malignancies of the colon are an infrequent , not exceptional finding, but they have higher frequency than metachronous neoplasma. Multiple synchronous neoplasms must be divided by a normal bowel segment and both must present a confirmed malignity. We reviewed cases studied at Clinica Chirurgica of Perugia and we discovered 23 patients with colorectal synchronous neoplasms in a total number of 621 malignacies. Reviewing the patient’s follow-up we could extract age, sex , and localization , histhology and macroscopical aspect of both synchronous neoplasms. We could also obtain diagnostic and therapeutic options, staging and survival rate for each patient. We consider that synchronous colorectal malignancies are often misunderstood because even X rays than endoscopy can not always safely check all colorectal segments. We agree that synchronous neoplasms display a diffuse colorectal mucous disease, even confirmed by frequent association with multiple neoplastic polyps.
