Abstract

The interaction between the soil-borne pathogen Thielaviopsis basicola and mycorrhizal roots infected by Glomus microcarpum has been studied during 4 months. A significant reduction in the number of propagules was observed in soils treated with mycorrhizal roots and an inhibition of T.basicola growth by a substance produced by mycorrhizal roots is suggested.
