In this paper the authors address the issue of the encoding of information on metaphoric expressions in a lexical-semantic database for applications in Natural Language Processing. The work is based on Italian dictionaries and on ItalWordNet, a WordNet-like semantic dictionary. WordNet is the large electronic lexical database developed by G.A.Miller.
