The main purpose of this paper is to extend some existence results of Gazzola, Serrin and Tang to general quasilinear elliptic problems, using a unified proof. We also extend them and those of Montefusco, introducing a new subcritical condition on the nonlinearity at infinity that, in canonical cases, interesting in applications, is more general than the subcritical condition used by the authors quoted above.
