The aim of this essay is to show how Rosmini uses Origen in his reflection on the ἀρχῇ (starting from Jo 1,1). The Author first illuminates the historico-theoretical context within which the Italian philosopher and his Introduzione del Vangelo secondo Giovanni commentata moves. He then concentrates on some particularly significant points: the notion of God not only as a subject, but also as a predicate; the inhering of the πρὸς in the ἀρχῇ; the person as an ontological device that holds together being καθ ’αὑτὸ and being πρὸς τι; the different characterisation of θεὸς, with or without article; the primacy and the relational identity of the λόγος.

Abstract
The aim of this essay is to show how Rosmini uses Origen in his reflection on the ἀρχῇ (starting from Jo 1,1). The Author first illuminates the historico-theoretical context within which the Italian philosopher and his Introduzione del Vangelo secondo Giovanni commentata moves. He then concentrates on some particularly significant points: the notion of God not only as a subject, but also as a predicate; the inhering of the πρὸς in the ἀρχῇ; the person as an ontological device that holds together being καθ ’αὑτὸ and being πρὸς τι; the different characterisation of θεὸς, with or without article; the primacy and the relational identity of the λόγος.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
