The French archipelago of Guadeloupe, thanks to its geographic and climatic characteristics is the center of one of the richest and typically tropical abundant flora. The sea sounding-depth are of exceptional interest too. This island is characterized by a ground of volcanic origin and by the presence of summits elevated up to 1.500 meters. This justifies the occurrence of an extremely varied ecosystem that comprises mangrovies in the seaside areas, rain forests as elevation proceeds with tropical native species, up to the heat and the peat-bogs next to the snow-capped top. Guadeloupe is occasionally hit by intensite hurricanes that modify the floristic pattern. It is the home of a Natural Park with a surface of 17.300 ha, classified as a World natural reserve by Unesco. Of great importance is the occurrence of valuable floristic and woody species included in the CITES lists.

Abstract
Of great importance is the occurrence of valuable floristic and woody species included in the CITES lists.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
