The effect of electrical stunning on the occurrence of haemorrhages in the shoulder of pigs was investigated. A total of 656 shoulders of pigs stunned using two different methods were examined in order to record the prevalence of petechiae, echymosis and haematomas. The results shows that the prevalence of shoulders with petechiae and echymosis was higher in pigs stunned with low voltage (90 Volts) than in pigs stunned with high coltage (230 Volts).
